I won this in an online auction on Thursday 18th August, 2016. The seller was located in Hastings, North Island, New Zealand.
The seller told me he bought it off the owner of a company that built historic style cottages in Hastings. He in turn had bought it at an estate auction of a businessman who had a timber recycling/processing business in Hastings but eventually committed suicide. That was in November 2004. There was talk that he was harrassed by the police for years after he had frogmarched 2 burglars to the police station at gunpoint. I have no knowledge of the saw's previous 48 years history. I believe the seller never used the saw.
It was delivered yesterday (2nd September, 2016) in the rain.
3000 rpm (at 50hz). 5hp; 3 phase. Takes up to 18" blade, cuts to 5" thick timber. Weighs in at over 10 cwt.
