Purchased Oct 2015 at a local farm auction for $5.00. This is a drill press stand so I didn't enter it into this photo index until I found a period-correct B&D drill to mount into it. The frame, which sold for $49 in 1953, was designed to accommodate B&D hand drills in the size range of 1/2" to 1". I couldn't find a 1" drill but my friend Matt traded me this 1/2" drill.
Several decades of sitting unused in a barn left a good deal of corrosion and rust, but it all cleaned up well.
Painted with Rustoleum hammered copper, which is pretty close to the original.
It is a beautifully and sturdily designed device which might have some use; if not is is good to look at.
