This lathe may have been intended for facing wheels. If you define the "front" to be the place where the operator stands, this is a left-handed lathe, i.e., the headstock is on the right.
Thanks to lathe owner DeWaynne Tackett, who sent us several pictures of his lathe. He is preparing the lathe for sale on eBay.
