This is a rather rare example of an Emrick combo machines. The "Universal Woodoworker" boasting "5 power tools in 1". The major functions are a 10x28" lathe, 8" drill press, and grinding/sander arbor. The other two "tools" aren't known for sure but I assume a table saw is one of them.
Whole thing is made out of welded angle iron. Not terribly rigid but seems to have done the trick. Bearings are all sleeves. The lathe/grinder is driven by a V-belt from the motor. The drill press probably got its motive power from a round belt running from the lathe and crossing over the top. The drill press table is missing--originally was probably round with a locating rod on the bottom.
I have since given this machine away.
