Here's the second example of this maker's work.... an even bigger pattern lathe than previously cited. This machine is was listed on eBay in June of 2005 and located in Washington State. I'm sure transport of a beast this size would end up being quite costly. In consideration of this fact, the seller has suggested that the new owner might possibly consider cutting the lathe in half. the seller goes on to add:

FS Perkins of Lowell MA, 230 volt 3 phase. 5hp, 21'5" (257" bed). 4 Jaw chuck, taper attachment. This came out of a working shop and was used to turn down shafts for the Seattle fishing industry. We will load once you arrange for local pickup. This Lathe has a 18 inch chuck (measured across the face), 30" swing, 1/2" arbor. The bed can be cut if you are short on space and need a nice lathe.
