Found on Craigslist.
Seller was a super nice guy who told me that *he* was told that the machine was originally purchased for the wood shop of an unknown Navy aircraft carrier. According to the story, it was purchased new and simply sat unused. Judging from the condition, i feel like it must have been used at least some, but we may never know. I wish he had been able to name the carrier or a bit more on the back story. (My uncle was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Cold War, so it interests me.)
** I'm told by the assembled machinerati that this is a sort of wolf in sheep's clothing. (In a good way). Not the original paint, nor the correct location for the green stripe. Various characteristic date the machine as late 60's despite the custom user paint job.
Update 9/4/2023: Recently sold and passed this machine on to another local hobbyist. I had to move house quickly and have no shop to move it into right away. I decided it was better to move it on than store it long term.
