A friend picked this up for me at an auction for $40. It was dirty and had quite a bit of surface rust. I did a basic cleaning and rust removal and waxed the surfaces. It came with the pictured stand, which I want to replace eventually. I didn't touch the blades, but they have met my needs so far. I will sharpen them eventually. It's a good little jointer for a great price!

I now live in Kansas, where I bought this jointer, but I grew up in Indiana. This machine was made for Montgomery Ward by Sprunger Bros. in Topeka, Indiana. Topeka is a small town in the Amish country of northern Indiana, where I grew up. My high school was a consolidated high school which included the small towns of Topeka, Shipshewana, and Emma. Happy coincidence!
