The S-290 was Newman's continuation of the classic Whitney 29 and 29A.
These were more often 36" machines although other widths were built.
The 30" weighed in at 6,000 lbs.
A great, gear driven Whitney machine, it runs a four knife straight steel head.
Got it in trade for two Ekstrom Carlson Model E Straight line ripsaws.
We switched to Diehl 750s and the guy in NH liked and needed the Ekstroms.
