Comments:
Rye, being British, is allowed here, although the rotary shapers don't seem to be too vintage.
What date might be used to denote the latest "vintage" that is vintage?
I say there is no date, at least not for these fine R-80 machines.
They are obsolete - does that mean something?
Obsoleted in that the most popular rotary shapers had sanding heads as well, seriously increasing productivity.
This unit is the twin to the other one listed.
Both were in Ethen Allen plants in western PA.
Both were bought cheap as they were obsolete.
Both were sold together to an end user in the Midwest who didn't need the sanding heads, thankfully.

The swing arms held 1 1/4 " spindles for 4" long stagger tooth planer or carbide milled-to-pattern shaping heads. The air holdowns were for multiple jigged part holding templates. The 48" diameter table rotated as parts were loaded.

The R-80 was a cast iron machine, giving it some vintage cred.
