This one was part of an estate sale, posted on CL on July 5, 2016. I have been searching for months for a used band saw and this one was only $100. I knew nothing of the history about this particular band saw just that it was an old Delta and looked complete. It was dirty and pretty beat-up in some areas, but I could see it as a restoration project for sure! When I got it home to the garage/shop, I did a quick search of the database to confirm it was born in 1946 and yes it was worthy of restoration! After I verified everything that moves did indeed want to move, I checked the motor and did some temporary power/safety checks. When I applied power that motor started running and sounded just fine. I attached the belt to the main drive pulley, applied power again and the lower wheel spun up as expected. The tires on the wheels were rotten and the thrust bearings were locked-up solid so I could not run the upper wheel, although, by hand it spun just fine. I'll have more about the restoration of this band saw over on the OWWM forum; look for "Delta Band Saw at 70"
Completed a full restoration on 30 August 2016.
