Comments:
This lathe was used in a small Pot and Pan shop in Millbrook Ontario. It was put outside in pieces when the shop had no use for it . In the 40's a Peterborough man acquired the pieces all but the bed ways for it. Wood bed was made and the lathe was used for many years spinning pots , lids , pans , and many small things like candle holders and lamp bases. He was the only spinner between Toronto and Montreal at the time. It was used into the 1960's. When the original building in Millbrook was being taken down in the 60's the original bed ways were dug up and one of the original workers seen it and knew what it was. The bed was returned to the lathe 40 or more years lather. I acquired the lathe from the original owners son who was retired and moving to a smaller house with no storage. I have restored the lathe as close as possible to the original paint colours. Still some stripping to do and some repairs to the hand tools and the chucks for the lathe.
