Comments:
This was my grandfather's saw. It sat unused in my parents basement until I needed a bandsaw for a project and asked them for it.

It is installed on a home-made welded stand with a 110 Vac single phase motor connected via v-belt (speed reduction from saw).

I disassembled and cleaned all surfaces except the still workable tires and regreased where needed.

I replaced the various hex and square nuts securing rear the sheet metal panel with 1/4-20 wing-nuts for easy access.

I drilled to remove the model and manufacturer's plaques, then painted the front and back panels with Rustoleum textured black. I used 1/8" steel pop-rivets to reattach the plates.

I ordered three new 62" band blades from Magnate, Inc. who sell through Amazon marketplace. I selected 1/4" 24 tooth, 1/4" 18 tooth & 3/8" 18 tooth, carbon tool steel, raker style blades. The total with shipping was ~$34.

I am 'in' for less than $50, and the saw is working well on 22 gage, mild steel sheet. I will likely increase the reduction ratio since I will be using this for metal, but at 22 gage, it cuts fine and doesn't heat the blade at all.
