These photos are courtesy of Bernard and Maureen Helinski. The "patents pending" on the label implies that it was made between 1947 and '52, assuming that Mr. Johnson updated his nameplate design once the patent was issued, which he most likely didn't.

[UPDATE: A report of another example, with S/N 670xxx, raises the possibility that the first two digits of the serial number are the year of production.]
