I bought this because it has the power feed option. In the process of rebuilding it, I decided I wanted a three phase motor so I could use a VFD. I ended up swapping motors with a good member from NY. I also got from him another head casting as the one I had was missing part of one of the tread bosses that take the column clamping screw. I also swapped the lower spindle assembly with someone else and the table raising rack is from an even different machine. The motor pulley was NOS from Plaza machine in Bethel, VT. The table had a pretty good (bad) arc of shame and I welded it up using E99 nickle welding rod and then ground it down. I was pleased with the results. This has become my go-to drill press. I love the convenience of the variable speed and reverse the VFD gives. The motor is 1 hp so plenty of power even at low speeds. The power feed is useful at times, but I don't use it every time. I machined up the quill lock. The bolt is 7/16" with a 3/8" thread for the adjustable handle. As on all of the 17" Deltas that I work on, I reversed the locking handle on the table height lock to same my knuckles.
