I found this machine listed on Craigslist a month after it was first posted, the guy informed me he got the machine from a friend that was relocating because he couldn't take it with him. The guy that was selling it claimed he didn't know anything about a lathe so that's was his reason for selling it. I drove 2 1/2 hrs one way and though it was pretty much a basket-case, I bought it anyway. It wasn't until after I got it home I realized what I had just gotten. It took me about 12 hours to take it all apart and clean it up prior to running it for the first time in years as evident by the oil that had turned to dry grease. All the gears look good, even the 13 change gears. Its got the old lantern tool post, a quick change tool post, and the "jack-shaft" also. This lathe runs smooth and quiet. Now to find a carriage gear, and a clutch. The key the cross feed gear needs I'll make.
