Comments:
Just bought this drill april 1st following a search add I placed on Kijiji. It is in quite good condition. There is noting written on the drill but it's a Boynton & Plummer no.6 because of the post (patent 274,026). Dia. of flywheel 16" x 1 3/8" and it has only three spokes. The feed wheel is 5 1/2" dia. and has 64 notches. The small bevel gear is 3 3/4" dia. and has 30 teeth and the large one is 5 1/2" dia. and has 46 teeth. Drill to the centre of a 9 1/2" circle up to the table rest shaft and 15" up to the post. Table rest shaft is 1 1/4" dia. The post is 2 1/2" dia. x 40 1/4" long. The date manufactured is between 1883 and 1892 because there is no slot in the frame pat. #480-907. Also, the drill is older because of the three spokes instead of five in the flywheel.
The table is missing, I would like to make one. If anyone could provide some specs , I'll appreciate.
[ADMIN NOTE 2016-04-28: Pretty sure it's a Boynton & Plummer No. 6, which is the same as a No. 1 except it has the "patent tubular iron column". See page 22 of the 1903 catalog under "Publications"]
