At the end of January 2016 a DeWalt 12" GP RAS spied on CL somehow ended up in my shop. The plan was to give it a minor tune-up and make sure it was operational. One thing led to another and it ended up being more involved than a minor tune-up but fell short of a full blown restoration. Actually the only glaring items that went untouched are a re-paint of the column support, arm, and blade guard.

The first major surprise came when I removed the carriage/motor assembly. Expecting to see convex roller bearings and ways machined into the arm, it was the opposite, concave roller bearings and convex steel ways bolted into slots machined in the arm. Did some OWWM site searching and sure enough a string popped up on a discussion of DeWalt producing a limited number of RAS's with bolt-in replaceable ways. This machine is one of those. Any additional information on these saws with removable ways would be greatly appreciated.
