This mortiser was recently given to me with 23 chisels. Although the chisels were rusty, most have cleaned up with the battery charger electrolysis process. I still need to construct the hardwood "spring". I'm told the original was oak and I have a 4 foot log that I need to rive up and them drawknife down into a usable spring. Only slight rust and some of the pin-striping is still visible.
