I bought this lathe from a local machinery dealer for $300. It was standing outside for some time and had a burned out motor as well as most parts missing from the variable speed setup. Due to the fact that I plan to use this machine daily, I decided to install a new variable speed DC motor. The motor bolted on easily and I installed two pulleys and a belt. The lathe runs very smooth and now has variable speeds from 0 to 2600 rpm's.
