I started a dialog with Rob Morris on a Cresson Morris machine and ended up touring Rob's shop and meeting up with his father in law Joe Leaf. I snagged a couple of shots of Joe's machines - he has made some sawdust and filings in his day. Joe provided the following info: Hall and Brown #1 30" Bandsaw

I bought this saw in Auburn, Wa. in 1978 with no lower wheel. Only the iron
hub remained. To put it in service required fabrication of a lower wheel, new
tires on both upper and lower wheels, new "wright guide" thrust wheels (ball
bearing vs the old iron type).

It had already been converted to "V" belt drive thus the original flat belt pulleys
and belt shift bar are missing. I refitted the Babbitt bearings. ( Scraping and
timesaver.) The saw now runs very well.

Several years ago I acquired a Beugler paint striping tool and looked around
my shop for something to practice on. Hall and Brown were my victims.Stricly non-original.This saw is old enough to have 1/2" - 12 tpi threads, but I do not know its
manufacturing year.

She is a real beauty. Enough iron to start a shipyard.
