I first noticed this saw pop up on CL a couple weeks back. I told myself I did not need another Uni Saw. Well it popped back up 6 days ago. The Seller had a asking price that did not put me in any kind of rush to jump on it, but the more I looked at the pics the seller had posted I thought it was worth a call. I think it was Tuesday when I called the seller and got some info on the saw. The seller told me that he was 80 years old and he has owned the saw for 30 years. He got the saw after his friend passed away. Seller was telling me that his friend use the saw to build his home back in the 40s and thought he was the original owner, and for the last 30 years its done more sitting in his garage than it has been doing any work. For the last 30 years the seller knew it was a nice old saw but that's about it. When I asked him about the two feet being replaced with wheels, he always though that was original. I could not see any issue's with the saw other than the switch being replaced and two feet being replaced with wheels. The original RI 1hp 1ph motor was wired up to run on 220. It fired right up and ran strong and quiet. The original miter is the first square miter I have got that did not have any saw marks in it. I made him a offer for the saw and he said he was hoping to get more for it, and he had someone from down south that wanted to come next week to look at it. I already decided that I did not want to leave without the saw. We made a deal that worked for the both of us and loaded it up for the hr ride home. It has spent the last 30 years in the same garage in Sobrante, CA.
