Nice planer offered on ebay with an auction end date of April 30, 2005. The seller added the following comments:

Up for auction is a vintage JA Fay and Egan Co 30" single sided surface planer. This planer has been updated over the years. The cutting head was changed to a Whitney four knife cutter head and the main drive motor has been converted from flat belts to v-belts. The roll drive motor has also been converted from a flat belt system to a motor with built in gear reduction and v-belts. I looked up the year of manufacture and can only say it was 1900 or earlier.
This planer has been maintained very well and is ready to plane. There is a set of knives in the cutter head and one spare set that needs to be sharpened.

Main drive 10 hp, 220/440 volt, 3ph
Feed Motor 2hp, 220/440 volt, 3ph, gear reduction motor.
Capacity 30" wide 8" thick
Table cranks up and down smoothly by hand.
There is also a dust hood not pictured.
