Comments:
This jointer had been used in the Theron Wolcott millwork shop in Middlebury, Vermont from about 1960 to the recent past. It has now been sold and not yet moved. Prior to use in the Wolcott shop it was used in the Charley Rodgers waterpowered mill in the center of Middlebury, now the Frog Hollow State Craft Center. I'm very sorry not to have been able to purchase this machine.

As of this writing (4/23/2005) this is the second 16" Rogers/American jointer posted on this site

Additional (and corrected) information added 4/29/2005:

The jointer is a 12" jointer not 16" as I had previously said. I'm embararassed that I couldn't see the difference though the table--when I looked at this last week--was a catchall for various items and completely covered.

The knife head is a 2 blade square head with turned wooden filler blocks added.

The brass shop tag on the clean out door states 'Shop No. 8 1517.' The 8 is stamped differently that the following four digits.

Did I say earlier that I had used this machine in 1976-1977 and that it has been recently sold but not yet picked up and that I am dismayed that I didn't get a chance to purchase this?
