Comments:
This planer is the larger size Red Fox which handles stock up to 12" wide and 4" thick. It's all cast iron and very heavy, at about 210 lbs without a motor and 300+ lbs with. It was still considered a "portable" when it was new.

The decal on the machine says the manufacturer was A. V. Carroll, as noted in a previous photo submission for the smaller 10" Red Fox planer.

From Australia (thanks!) comes the info that the blades for this planer are just a flat about 5 mm thick, with three oblong holes for attachment and a beveled cutting edge. The blade measured 12-1/4" x 1-1/2" in its original unused size.
