Bought this drill press about 1981 (used) for $35, used it in manufacturing until 2016. Motor is a 1/3 hp Emerson fan motor that I installed in the 80s along with the utility box and rocker switch. The paint is original as are all the bushings and bearings. When I took it out of routine service, I gave it a good cleaning, a new belt, and a new 3/8" chuck to replace the old tired 1/2" Jacobs Multi-craft. I figure it has drilled 9/64" holes through over 10,000 inches of silicon steel, and other than some wear on the splined pulley, it still works quietly and smoothly. Henceforth, it will be semi-retired.
It is about 33" tall, with a 7.5" square table, 14" swing, and it weighs about 40 lbs. It was made by Duro Metal Products for Montgomery Ward & Co.
