Comments:
I acquired this Carron "Colonial" solid chisel mortiser from the Wairarapa (North Island, New Zealand) at the end of January, 2016. The previous owner had had it for around 35 years. He in turn had bought it at an auction when a local Masterton joinery firm closed (~1980). It had been in active use by the joiner until then.
The "Colonial" has a 6"stroke, and can clamp timber up to 6" x 11" cross section. It can be used to bore it's starting hole as well as as a mortiser (although this one came without any drills).
