This machine is part of the equipment used by three generations of woodworkers. The equipment was purchased by Frank Spezia and Sons, A carpentry and cabinet making shop in southern Illinois in the late 1930's or early 1940's. The equipment now belongs to Carl Spezia who is the grandson of the shop's founder. The current owners father operated the shop for approximately 30 years. The machine has been in use since he late 1930's. It is a solid piece of equipment that was used to joint and plane material up to 6 inches wide. It also has a rabbeting groove for creating this type of joint.
