I just recently acquired my DeWalt 7770 radial arm saw for free from a local fellow claiming the motor was shorted out, causing his circuit breaker to trip every time he tried to start up the saw. He told me the saw had sat outside for some time and thought this was the cause of the problem. I was up for the challenge (and the price was right!) so I brought the saw home to investigate. After a little cleaning and freeing-up of sticky adjustments, etc. I tried plugging it in to test it, fully anticipating that I was going to have to take the motor apart ... nope! She started right up and purred like a kitten! So now I am going to really begin to invest some time cleaning it up and setting all of the adjustments from scratch to get it as tight and smooth as possible.
