I saw this old machine sitting forlornly at a Garage Sale, no price. Asked the lady, "how much"?, she said, "Make an Offer", I jokingly, said, "$5 dollars", she said, "SOLD, I'm tired of moving this heavy old saw around". It was mounted on an old table top, so I used it too, after cutting a hole for the sawdust to come out. A buddy had a small stand, and it just fit. Lot of work with rust removal, had to "redneck" a pointer for depth of cut, made an aluminum right side angled panel out of an alum. cover from the top of a Craftsman radial arm, and put a white Craftsman logo on it to enclose the innards of the saw, the tightening knob for the fence, I had to make out of a 1/2 in socket and an old knob from a radial saw, another "redneck" idea that worked perfectly. On my electrical set up, I put a box on the front of the stand for the switch, run that wire to the back of stand and put a recept. box, for the power cord and receptical, and then put a short 2 foot or less, plug cord on the motor, and plug it in to the recept. box, and use the switch to power on the recpt. for the motor. Don't like to hardwire the motor. Painted it with, my old standby, Rust-oleum Charcoal Gray #7784 from Home Depot. There is a better Craftsman match from Sherwin-Williams, Krylon Industrial Tough Coat, Machinery Blue-Gray Acrylic Enamel #329-ASA24. When I was doing a lot of restoring I ordered a case of 12 cans from Global Industrial, but the Charcoal Gray works fine. I first put adjustable pads on the stand, a dumb idea, so then I put casters on it, a smart idea, now I can move it around easily.
