I acquired this from a fine gentleman in Independence, Missouri with whom I have stayed in touch. It was in pieces and had some surface rust which cleaned up nicely. Everything was in great working order so it really just needed a good cleaning and coat of paint.
For this machine i wire wheeled every piece of metal, cleaned and painted with enamel tractor implement paint for toughness. I also replaced the power cord for good measure, the original was brittle and cracking internally.
As far as i know, this still has the original bearings
The arbor is 5/8" (an odd size these days it seems) but i run 3/4" cutters on it with bushings. It works great. I really wanted to install a power receptacle in the original hole in the switch box mounted on the base but i cannot find one the right size to fit in the hole as described in the documents I found on this site.
It is equipped with the original fence and cutter guard. I don't know if the wood on the table edges is original or not, but i sanded it and applied some wipe on poly to help protect it.
an interesting note which leads me to believe it was made close to or in 1926, is the fact that the wing nuts on the moveable side of the fence actually have a date stamp of 1925, which i noticed after cleaning them up.
If anyone knows where you can find different sized arbors for this particular machine i would love to know. It also apparently had an optional router collett. I will be searching for one of those.
Also if anyone knows what the original motor plate detail was like...that would be great to know. i.e. if the letters were filled red or black etc.
