I surmise from other images on OWWM that this Craftsman drill press was made by Atlas and dates to the '30s or '40s. I don't know the model No. Would appreciate any help in determining that.

My father-in-law (an electrician) did some work for an old woman. The job turned out to be a little more expensive than she expected, so she offered to trade some of her late husband's tools. My father-in-law said he'd trade for the drill press and call it good. She agreed. Then he gave this to me for my birthday. Nice gift!

It is a wonderful tool, but I am realizing it might be time to tune it up. I'm not sure if the motor is original. I suspect not. Also, it is missing a piece right in front and above the chuck. Can anyone fill me in on this? I'm going to post a question in the discussion forum about this. Thanks.
