Just bought this saw for $450CDN - took it home and put it on a mobile base. Plugged it in and runs fine. Growls somewhat on startup but quiet when up to speed. Cuts well, good power. Did the nickel test but nickel fell over after about 15 secs. Does anybody know the year from the only number that I could find on the saw "H-416" which is stamped on the tilt quadrant just behind the up and down wheel.Rear slide block on fence is cracked and will look for a good one. Runs on 110 v I phase, . Motor is Delta 8300 1HP. Don't Know what the growl is on startup ?
Tues Mar.29 Wow! feels like I just joined a very exclusive club.I think I'm in love. LOL
Thanks everybody for the help in identifying my saw. Gord

Admin. Note: This saw uses the same serial numbering sequence (letter-three digit number) as the 1939 Four-Footed Unisaws. This saw is one of the earliest to have the full donut cast iron plinth.
