I purchased this jointer in an estate sale in Lancaster,Texas along with a stationary sander. It had been part of a large home workshop and the owner had not used them in many years. The bad news was,in addition to the tools' inactivity, he stored chlorine for pools in an adjacent room. The machines were both covered in rust anywhere they were exposed to the air.

The good news is they were complete with the guards and all parts save one knob and I bought both tools for $100. I had to make a few extra trips back there once I printed a parts diagram from sears web site and realized what was missing. After many hours of buffing and cleaning, I replaced the bearings and knives in the jointer and it worked beautifully. I added factory casters from Craftsman purchased new on ebay. I even found the Craftsman jointer-knife setting gauge at another sale to complete the machine.
