I bought the Toro Lathe on ebay for $35. It had the original motor and some accessories. It functions well so far. I purchased some Morse #1 taper components for it and I am in the process of restoring it completely. The tricky part was to build a table to support the lathe and the motor in a way that allowed me to change the belt locations easily for different speeds. The table is mdf and it has 5/8" x 14" square "feet" on each end that drop into a 5/8" x 14" recess on each stand. The stands were old 11 x 17 file cabinets my church threw out. I gave them new life as a "tool dock" system for my bench tools by adding total lock casters and new hinged tops. I store the accessories inside of them by lifting the lids.
