This machine came up in conversation with the grandson of the original owner. He mentioned that he had a cool, large, and very old lathe. After he sent me a few pictures I realized it was a Logan built Lathe sold by Powr-Kraft. I started learning all about Logan lathes and I feel very fortunate to have acquired this machine. I know from the serial number that it was built in 1950, but I am not sure how people narrow it down to the exact date after that. I plan to clean it and probably repaint it and try to use it. At some point I would probably like to find a suitable stand and chip pan, but for know I will stick with the original home made wooden stand which is still very sturdy. These are all before pictures taken at the previous owner's garage. I'll need some better pictures. The Lathe is in very complete, but currently very dirty condition.
