The saw was originally my father's, and has been in the family since purchased, which I "think" was in late 1939 or early 1940, mainly because of the "Aug 1939" written on the stand, and the fact that my father had saved a 1940 catalog that apparently was used to order parts. In the late 40s, my grandfather cut off his finger in the jointer. I inherited the saw in the late 70s, and unfortunately let the stand get a little rusty by storing it in what I thought was a dry barn once. I also broke the tab in the table top that supports the blade inserts, by trying to cut a small piece with a big shaper blade. I repaired this by threading in a small piece of angle iron to support the insert. The motor is still the original motor, however it is a Wards motor, so I assume that this was purchased separately. The motor is a reversing motor, which has been handy at times, although it has also caused me some confusion when the blade would refuse to cut anything. Have the original fence and blade guard, and a miter guage shared with the bandsaw.
Note, I got the Model 368 info from the catalog. I cannot find any model number written anywhere on the saw. Model 368 us a combination of a #860 table saw and a #290 Jointer and the large stand (there is another model with a smaller stand).
