This 6" Jointer is badged as a Powr-Kraft machine that was made for Montgomery Wards by Sprunger Brothers, Inc of Indiana and is a re-baged Sprunger NJ-600 model 6" Jointer.
I restored this for a customer friend who found it posted on the Ft. Worth Texas craigslist and was more than likely bought brand new in the 1950's at the old huge downtown Ft. Worth Montgomery Wards store.It came with the very nice heavy duty original Powr-Kraft adjustable height metal stand and with a Westinghouse/M.W.Powr-Kraft 1-HP 3450rpm motor also. This Jointer was in very nice original condition with the original factory Sprunger ink marked blades still in the machine that were resharpened. Originally this Jointer was painted a gold color for Montgomery Wards by Sprunger and the metal stand and motor were painted a very ugly tan color for Wards. The Jointer was repainted in Awl Grip mixed to match the underside factory grey color sprayed on at the Sprunger factory. Jointer was originally over sprayed in a gold color per Wards color specs.
I replaced the arbor bearings,added new balanced steel arbor and motor pulleys, has all new 14/3 electrical cords, new metal box and heavy duty 20 amp toggle switch, new Gates 1/2" V-type belt and new heavy duty adjustable feet pads.
This design is one of my all time favorite 6" long bed Jointers and is a very heavy duty well built machine with beautiful old school art deco sleek design lines.

Note: motor has a nice toggle switch factory mounted feature to reverse the rotation very easy if necessary and a nice thermo protection switch also. Motor was repainted in Eastwood Company extreme epoxy chassis semi-gloss black.
