This is the larger of two machines I purchased from a welding shop in Pittsburgh, Pa. The smaller Canedy-Otto weights close to 1000 lbs. This machine weighs close to 2000 lbs and is over 7 feet high. This machine was sold by a conglomerate machine supplier "Somers Fitler & Clark to the city of Pittsburgh. This machine is also devoid of any identifying marks or part numbers. I am fairly sure it is a A. H. Kerkhoff & Co. 28" Heavy Pattern Drill Press. The table and table base height is not adjusted with an Acme screw lift but with a large rack and pinion that requires a 1/2" bar to lever it up and down. I suspect the table and base weigh over 500 lbs. This drill press has a four speed belt driven "Down Feed" and four belt speeds with backgear with a hand shift lever. This machine also has moving quill head with 23 inches of travel. If you recognize this machine please let me know.
