Purchased at auction for $4.00. The machine spindle was frozen in old oil/ grease and very rusty..cleaned, wire brushed, cleaned all parts, painted and put back together...the smoothest, quietest lathe i have seen in a long time. Quieter than my large "school shop " Delta lathe. Update 12/25/15..rather than modify another brand or make of compound slide..I built a custom compound slide with quick change tool post for HHS cutters. Works great on aluminum and brass but I wouldn't suggest turning steel with it.
