Found this machine in Buena, New Jersey.I am pretty sure this is a rare find. Talked with my buddies at Whitney, and it's not a fluke. The saw was manufactured in 1963 for a timber co. in Lowell Mass. The Model #179 was the same as the #177 but had a factory table extension and came equipped with those heavy-duty extension supports. I could be wrong but I am only aware of 1 other one in existence and I'm not telln where that one is! Lol. Once I get my JS250 rebuilt I guess I will start on this project. In the mean time its gettn hooked up and put on the floor to start ripping stock.I would like to thank my very close friend Rick Faris for talking me into this endeavor, I was gonna let it slip by because I had to many other projects going on. Rick convinced me that it would be a good investment and he was right!

The factory modified the 7 to a 9 instead of making a whole new base casting for this model saw.

Kind of an overkill on the space-age looking table extension support! Thats Whitney for ya.

Came equipped with a dado spindle. Very little wear on the table.
