This bandsaw is located at the Ferrymead Museum, Christchurch, New Zealand.
It is probably a 30" machine. My visit was hurried, and I did not have time to find any history - but it is likely to have come from the Addington Railway Workshops (which closed in the late 1980s).
7th May, 2016: I had a friend send a few more pictures. The bandsaw did come from the Addington Railway Workshops, Christchurch, New Zealand. It was, I am told, one of eight bandsaws at the workshops, and one of three LH bandsaws there.
The 8 saws were located as follows:
One in the Woodwagon Shop joinery space;
Two in No.1 Car Shop, one operated Left Hand and one Right Handed;
Two in No.2 Car Shop joinery - one LH, one RH;
Two in the Woodmill - one LH, one RH;
One in the Railcar Shop (ex Woodwagon Shop).
