it has been suggested by others that just before ww2, the callander foundry acquired a small woodworking machinery manufacturer. after some research, it appears that the foundry boys bought machinery in the us and imported them to Canada. this bandsaw, a tiltop tablesaw and a small woodlathe have been reported
this model bandsaw has appeared several times, both here and on the Canadian woodworking forum. it is, with some minor changes, a rebadged walker turner bn100. it has nothing in common with the post ww2 beaver bandsaws
wheels and main casting are clearly a bn100, wheel covers are different, and there are two posts supporting the upperwheel assembly rather than the single postof early w/t models
I acquired this machine locally, in decent condition. an overhaul is in progress.
I did solder up a blade from some old material and powered up the saw, runs great. not as nicely made as the post war beaver 2300 but better than many 12 inch saws
