I bought this sander on March 5, 2005 at an estate sale/auction. The asking price on Friday was $50, I offered $30 and they declined the offer. On Saturday, when everything that had not sold previously was auctioned, I got the sander for $20.
The logo is like the one on this site, but says Darra-James Power Tools Waterbury Connecticut Darra-James Corporation. There are no model markings anywhere on the sander, but the base, and both tables have ALCOA with casting numbers cast as raised characters on the castings.
There is an illustration on page 16 of the 1949 Ward's catalogue under the PowrKraft manufacturer's listing. Item A looks to be the same or a very similar disk.drum sander as this one.
There was no sandpaper on the disk. The paper on the drum was so old that the abrasive came off when the paper was rubbed.
