I found this on ebay along with a jointer blade sharpener in a seperate auction in Febuary 2005. I am going to take the planer attachment off and use it as a jointer sharpener.
The instruction manual claims "Unlike other planer blade sharpeners, this grinder slides on the planer table, grinding the blades perfectly parallel with the table top." The manual shows the grinder sharpening the top of the head, so if the table is not perfectly parallel with the head, any amount it is off would be multiplied by 2 after the head turns 180 degrees to make the cut on your lumber. If the motor was inverted, what they are claiming would be true.
Anyway, this is an interesting and useful tool.
