This is the type H fence that came with a 1942 Oliver 270 table saw. The 270 was offered with the type G which was a plain t-square style fence, the type J center mounted micrometer fence, and the type H which was the same as the J style but with the tilting face. The saws came standard with the G style and the J and H fences were considered upgrades. The fence itself is 27" long and 3" high. The assembly is positioned on the table by two tapered pins that fit into tapered holes precision drilled in the table top and it is locked down with a threaded hand knob. It has 9 3/4" of lateral adjustment before the need to switch to a new set of index holes which are on 9" centers across the saws table. The process of changing to a new set takes about 30 seconds.
