I acquired this saw from the estate of a deceased woodworker who made louvered shutters, so I don't think it was subjected to a lot of heavy use. The saw was in pretty rough shape, especially the fence system, but cleaning and painting got it looking and running good. The cast iron top has a couple of small dings but is pretty much flat and true.

I replaced the original fence with a new 30 inch Biesemeyer BC30 fence system and installed a Rout-R-Lift insert (with a 3.25 HP Hitachi router) in the fence rails. This is an excellent set up...gives you a very stable router table without taking up any additional floor space. The added mass and stiffness of the router system makes the Unisaw run even smoother than its reputation is known for. I highly recommend this combination on most any table saw.

I have updated my original restoration.

Went to a flea market this week end and found a good deal on a 3 HP Unisaw motor....replaced the original 1.5 HP motor with the 3 HP motor and she does cut like a dream now.

Mass and horse power are my friends.
