Comments:
Bought this saw on ebay. The before picture looks a lot better than it actually was. The saw had been knocked over forwards at some point. This broke the front trunion and front trunnion bracket in two. They were brazed back together but not very well. The front of the cabinet was also bent outwards and the spot welds holding the top flange in one corner were broken as a result. The pulleys were non-original two belt pulleys that did not fit properly. The commutator had been turned down to within an inch of it's life. The spring on the shorting device was fried and the bearings were bad. Of course none of this was divulged by the seller. Thanks to much help from OWWM members and patiently watching ebay daily, I was able to obtain all of the parts necessary to put this saw back together. I still need to paint the dust door and reinstall the name plate. I also need to make something to fill the 8" hole in the side of the motor cover. If you ever buy any machine on ebay, ask lots of questions and ask for lots of pictures of the internals as well as the outside.
