In the 1980's my uncle salvaged a table saw from the village landfill. It sat in my parents backyard on an old kitchen table,under a piece of carpet. I was living in Burnaby B.C. and trying to set up a home shop on a tight budget, and one day I remembered my dad had that saw. When I next was on Vancouver Island I brought the saw home. When I started to clean it up I realized it was a Craftsman item. I equipped it with a 1 h.p. waterproof motor I bought at the Sears clearance centre, which was just a couple of blocks away. I went to the Lake City Sears Service Centre for parts one day and was told that the saw dated from 1955, which was the year I was born.
