This is an old flat belt driven printers saw. It was used to cut linotype, lead slugs, and "furniture" (wood blocks used by printers of the era).

It has a very precise sliding guide.

Got it for free after purchasing a couple of later model (1950's) printer's linotype saws.

NOTE: I DID NOT INSTALL THE MOTOR AT THE BASE!!! Look at the v-belt pulley on the motor! I believe this machine had an overhead line shaft setup. There is some modification to the table, where "newer" metal is installed. If I were to remove it, it would be pefect placement for an overhead belt setup.
