I posted my need for a shaper for a house renovation project to the Canadian Woodworking forum and a fellow a half hour from my home sent me an email offering this excellent machine. The pictures show its fine condition and the careful detail work the previous owner put into the fence.

So far it has seen a good deal of use and I find the 2 hp motor is more than adequate.

General still lists this model in its catalogue, recommending it for schools and institutions.

Just a quick note, added June 13, 2006: Last year I added a Busy Bee 1/4 hp power feeder. With it I was able to run a thousand feet of flooring, mostly 8" by 12' ash boards with a slight bow in the middle. Second floor windows and exterior clear-pine siding for dormers came next. For the kitchen cabinets I made a sleigh for cross cuts and used a cope-and-stick set to have a busy and enjoyable winter's work making muntined windows for use as doors. Most recently the feeder has had a workout with a 3 1/2" crown moulding cutter I bought from Elite Tools in Quebec. I cut the crowns in white oak for the kitchen cabinets and now am making them out of pine as needed for repairs to the soffits of an 1896 Victorian brick house. I continue to be impressed by the solidity of this shaper-feeder combination.
